Florida State University to Host 2026 Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Expo (AIMLX26)

Florida State University will host the 2026 Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Expo (AIMLX26) on February 27–28, 2026, at the Challenger Learning Center in Tallahassee, Florida.

The two-day event is organized by FSU’s Interdisciplinary Data Science master’s program and will explore the latest real-world applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning across multiple industries.

Industry and Academic Collaboration

The first day will feature presentations from industry leaders and academic researchers, including representatives from:

Focus on Agentic AI

This year’s theme is Agentic AI—intelligent systems capable of operating autonomously with minimal human intervention. Key topics include:

  • Multi-agent systems
  • Large language model–based agents
  • Decentralized web architectures
  • AI for scientific discovery
  • Applications in healthcare, finance, and enterprise systems One featured presentation will highlight the development of a multi-agent AI system designed to help older adults better understand laboratory test results. The project is supported by a grant from the National Institute on Aging and aims to improve accessibility and health literacy through AI technologies. The keynote address will be delivered by Sherwin Wu of OpenAI, who will discuss major developments in AI over the past three years and provide insights into the field’s direction over the next three years.

Community Engagement and Education

On the second day, the expo will open to the local K-12 community. Faculty members will present accessible talks on AI, and attendees will participate in hands-on activities such as:

  • Robotics demonstrations
  • Introductory coding sessions
  • Vehicle challenges
  • Interactive educational workshops This marks the first time the event includes a dedicated community outreach component.

Bridging Research and Real-World Impact

AIMLX26 aims to strengthen the connection between university research and practical AI applications in everyday life and industry. The event provides opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and direct engagement with researchers and practitioners at the forefront of artificial intelligence innovation.
